Modern Cloth Nappies - Fox

Modern Cloth Nappies - Fox

Regular price $15.00 Sale

As we all know, disposable nappies are getting very expensive. Why not get these reusable, washable super-absorbent, comfortable and super stylish cloth nappies, (also called modern cloth nappies {MCN's} or pocket nappies)

Did you know, it’s been suggested that the cost of disposable nappies for one baby is about $3,500 until they reach toilet training - obviously this price varies depending on toilet training age, but the average cost to MCN for the same amount of time is $1,500, including the cost of laundering over that 2 and a half years. That’s a saving of $2000 just on nappies!

Let’s talk about the environmental impact of just one disposable nappy. For just one nappy to fully decompose can take between 200-500 YEARS! Plus all of the chemicals required to make the nappy in the first place, meaning that if you make the switch, your chances of bubba getting nappy rashes will reduce drastically because they aren’t coming into contact with these nasty materials, plus look uber cute in any of our 30 designs we have coming over the next few months! (Follow us on facebook & Instagram to keep up to date)

All of our nappies come with a 5 layer Bamboo insert and you can purchase additional 3 layer microfibre inserts or Bamboo Flushable Liners to make sure you get the best value for your money and your nappies last!

One of the main reasons I was hesitant to make the switch is because I already had 2 children, I knew there would be a heap of washing to do and I didn’t want to add to my washing when disposables are ‘easier’. Doing my research now, I know that MCN’s are really not that difficult and really don’t require extra work. There are so many different types and I was so confused by them all, but I have simplified it for you, only supply what I know works for me and have written out simple instructions for you to follow and if you have any questions, we are always here to help. It is recommended that you wash them separately but I do a rinse & spin cycle first with just my nappies, and then throw in my regular washing, therefore saving on needing to wash only my nappies every second day. Line dry them in the sun for a natural germ killer and a great stain remover as well – thanks Sun!!!

Tips & Care

  • Wash before first use. Please wash colours separately
  • It usually will take a few washes to reach its full absorbency, we generally advise 3-4 but could be up to 6 washes or more
  • Place the insert inside the nappy thro  ugh the open pocket in the back
  • Liquid will be absorbed through the inner layer of the nappy to the insert
  • More than one insert may be needed when sleeping or when necessary
  • Nappy should be changed every 2-3 hours, and when damp, to prevent nappy rash

Washing Instructions

  • Remove and rinse off the residuals (knock solids into toilet), then store in dry place, or nappy bin.
  • Do not store nappies for too many days, should be washed within 1-2 days.
  • Machine wash (no hotter than 30oC), cold rinse.
  • Hang them up to dry in the sun (sunlight helps bleach the nappies to remove any remaining stains), or "Low" tumble dry.
  • No bleach, No softener, DO NOT boil the cover.
